Meeting: February 12th, 6-9pm

Tonight we'll view two films featuring the work of Paul Strand: “Manhatta,” 1921, and “The Plow That Broke The Plains,” Pare Lorentz, 1936.

After, we'll look at recent images from Haiti via AP and discuss the ethics of journalism during natural disasters.

Finally, we'll look at any current projects that you bring in, time permitting. Any suggestions for future programs will be welcomed as well.

Meet monthly with other photographers and look at videos, discuss each others work, “treasure hunt” the web, and in general talk about local events, issues and technology both old and new.

Our group meets Friday evenings, 6-9pm at McNeal Hall on the U of M Saint Paul campus near the State Fairgrounds.

We'll be in Room 10, a space that can accommodate up to 40 persons. It's equipped with a huge screen, a fine data/video projector along with a good sound system. We could hook up any laptop, Mac or PC. Any type of image file, any program any DVD etc. even 8.5” X 11” prints can be projected and will look GREAT!
